LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) NOVEMBER 02, 2016

Cure4Hunger Inc. announced today that it has appointed Campbell Soup Company veteran, Tom Mangus, as its President of Global Agricultural Operations to help build the company’s sustainable agriculture program to enhance the global health of the world population.

With four decades of demonstrated success in food procurement, Mangus spent 25 years at Campbell’s Soup as the Director of Global Procurement and procured for several of its subsidiaries. Additionally, he worked for 13 years in agricultural procurement and supply chain management.

Mangus has travelled the world extensively to understand the global footprint of agriculture and its challenges. A present challenge affecting the world today is the alarming proportion of diet-related diseases such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and premature deaths brought on by unhealthy eating habits. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently proposed interventions to ensure healthy foods are available by implementing healthy food procurement policies.

“We welcome Tom to our leadership team as he shares our values and commitment to serving those in need,” said Cure4Hunger Co-founder, Eric W. Williams. “He understands the significance that farmers now have — the ability to grow the crops of their choice, regardless of geographic region on a first come, first serve basis by utilizing our sustainable agricultural technology.”

Cure4Hunger’s objective is to tackle health disparities and food scarcity by addressing the world’s food system to individual, public, and global health. Besides overseeing all procurement activities, Mangus will develop high global standards for Cure4Hunger’s organically-produced agricultural products. He will also plan and execute the changing institutional food procurement policies vital to increasing the overall demand for a sustainable global food system.

“Without hesitation, I joined the Cure4Hunger team because of their genuine vision to provide a positive solution in the agricultural industry. As the global food chain continues to undergo dynamic changes, my knowledge of legislation, regulations and market trends in agriculture will ensure that Cure4Hunger promotes best practices in the global food marketplace,” said Mangus.

Now that Tom Mangus has joined the team, Cure4Hunger can continue to expand their fight against food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness. His plans to implement healthy food procurement strategies will increase consumption of healthy foods and a healthier lifestyle for people across the globe.
